114 or 115

Hi there,

well, people say there's no 4 cylinder 114, only 6. but i've have seen a few 200 114's, with the 114 rear lenses.

Best thing is to check with the year it was made and VIN / production numbers, as I'm sure just like cars like Cortina Mk3, factories often mis-match parts.

In the Cortina's case, early mk3's with round headlights are not supposed to have anti-roll bars, but sometimes they do (without owners upgrading them).

So maybe same case as w114 and w115. Very weird. I have an original 230.6, made in 1973. Also have a 115, 1976.

Some things which can help you identify a 114 is a slightly different front grille, different rear boot chrome piece (under Star), different chrome lining on both sides of front windshield.

Btw, about the 15k price, maybe a 10k price is well suited for a car that needs "10%" work. A fully restored one can fetch about 20 k already. Also depends on amount of rust on the car.

Hope I can help..
Happy motoring,

Harvinder Singh Sidhu.
