a willing seller and a willing buyer, thats all that is needed, beuty and value are in the eye of the beholder....... ive no comment on the isabella asking price, but i would say that prices here in malaysia for 'restored' or 'tiptop' cars are on the high side, simply because apart from some dodgy welding, new paint and cushions nothing else is touched, there is usually zero commitment to getting the vehicle running and driving as factory. so relativly these cars are over priced. when i have qustioned sellers on things like worn wheel bearings, cracked rubber brake pipes etc, im told ''well it is xx years old you know!''......the fact they are asking nearly the same as a properly restored car (with strict TUV/MOT test passes) in europe doesnt seem to faze them at all.......i think its best to buy a wreck here, at least you know it will be done thoroughly if you do it yourself.......... as an aside, back in jersey,my grandfather bought a borgward in the 1950's, he had to sell very quickly, because, as a shopkeeper he was being boycotted as a german sympathiser !!! (jersey had been occupied by the german whermacht during WW2)..... |
