I know that we should respect price of Sellers, but over quoting prices with dodgy repairs and bodywork not up to expectations? For that price, we should be looking at concourse condition car. But looking at it even the paint is not up to mark then i would say the price is crappy.I do go for reasonable priced cars ( i am willing to pay as long the price fits the condition). I did came across a reasonably priced Mk2 Jaguar 3.8 in Taman Medan long time ago. It was quoted RM15K and i managed to get the price to RM10K but someone else beat me to it. The condition was respectable to pay such prices as there were some minor rust issues, the body needed some work, interior the seats need to be re fabricated but the engine was outstanding starts and runs well.
If he would have priced that Borgward for Rm25K-30K i would think its reasonable giving its condition.
But I do note that people are overcharging here with terms of classic cars. I mean when i was in US and UK, i didn't encounter such problem but here the owner thinks that even a beaten up Runner could go for unimaginable prices.
If you could go down to Pattaya there are nice classic rides on Sale and saw an Oldsmobile 442 going for RM15K Malaysian mint condition whereas i saw the Same model going for RM50K with rusty bodywork and dodgy paintjob.
If you want to sell a classic, price it according to the condition. If not better not advertise and end up the ad would be sitting there for long long time with no buyers. Eventually it would spoil the market.
Fellow classic lovers,
This is just my two cents worth.
Cheers
