according to the classics monthly UK mag on dec 2009 the borgward isabella is worth 3000 pounds for a class 1 condition, 1250 pounds for a class 2 and a 250 pounds for a class 3 perhaps bringing that mag and showing that to the owner in kb would let the guy consider to let go the car at a way reasonable price. i think 28k is fair, else you could just buy one from the UK
