If it helps we have just done both the above mentioned. Walking up and down including stops and lunch was around 5 hours. Need to be reasonably fit. I believe the time period for the railway to be down is around 4 months of which a month has passed. We took the four wheel drive from the gardens. A trip of around an hour to an hour and a half. They give you a tour around the sights at the top then bring you down. All for the reasonable fee of RM $90.00 (per vehicle not per person) Hope this helps. Regards Don
